Induction tube welding machine
Our team has designed an induction heating machine that can weld together tubes for various applications - oil industry, mining industry, etc.
It has been designed to use one turn coils thanks to our impedance matching transformer in order to achieve a narrow heating zone. Both parts which are welded are rotating during the preheating period. Short before welding the rotation is stopped.
With this unit it is possible to weld long tubes with the maximum length of 8000 mm on shorter tubes (drilling heads) with the length of max. 500 mm. We could make another variation of this welding machine with a locking and unlocking induction coil. Another variation of the machine is preheating without work piece rotation and if needed, could be realized in vertical configuration.
It can weld tubes with a diameter of 50mm to 150mm, wall thickness from 4mm to 14mm. The welding temperatures are approximately 1350 °C, depending on the material we are welding. The heating cycle time is about 2 minutes, after this process the welding machine can also anneal and temper the weld as well as whatever else might depend on the programmer made for these particular processes. These functions are not provided for friction welding.
Characteristics:
- Built in impedance matching transformer
- Maximum tube length: 8000 mm
- Welded tube diameter: 50 mm – 150 mm
- Controlling unit PLC Simatic S7
