Machine for induction heating of brass billets
The machine was specifically designed for induction heating and handling of brass billets with different diameters and lengths through the inductor coil and then handling them through to the forging press.
The handling machine and induction heating unit are highly productive and the process is completely automatized. It can work on its own or it can be included in a production line. The control is limited only to taking care of eventual errors, which are indicated on the PLC. Brass billet temperature is controlled with an optical pyrometer to very high precision. It measures the temperature of each brass billet and according to it regulates the power of the induction heating unit. If the brass billets are exceeding the temperature set, or the temperature is too low, the flap on the end of the transport band will open and the billets will fall into a scrap box. Keeping in mind that the customer wanted to handle billets which length is even or smaller then the diameter (up to ratio 0,9 : 1), we had constructed a special gripping clamp, conveyor and output flap.
Induction heating coils have a special form and consist of the heating and temperature holding part. The machine is programmable and it can memorise over 100 different programs for induction heating and handling brass billets of various size.
