Devices
From the induction heating device, the alternate current flows through the induction coil, in which the electromagnetic field is generated.
The work piece's heating speed depends on the field's strength and the generator's output power. The output power determination depends on our costumer's request and on the specific temperature that the treatment technology demands. Some technology procedures, especially hard brazing, require a certain ammount of time, which cannot be reduced to more than its minimum. This concludes the fact that it is not possible to increase the equipment capacity by increasing its mechanical capabilities.
Every process, like preheating materials for forging or melting materials, demands its specific energy to reach the optimum temperatures. It is best to consider the data of those energies since every material has its own unique characteristics. If we want to calculate the real device power needed, we should multiply the values from the diagram with the factor from 1,3 to 1,5. A rough estimate of the necessary induction heating power can be made by applying the following rule: approximately 1 kW of output power is needed for each millimetre of the work piece diameter.
